Head of College’s Teas

Silliman College Teas

College Teas provide an opportunity for a relatively intimate group of students and fellows to interact with distinguished visitors from the worlds of politics, the arts,  social movements, business, media, and science in an informal setting in the living room of the Head of College House. Teas are casual events during which the guest speaks to students/fellows, and takes questions, about lifelong passions and experiences. Casual, but memorable: some of our students’ best memories come from Teas that they attended!

2024-2025

  • Thursday October 24th from 5-6:30pm at the HoC House I am thrilled to announce our first tea. We are welcoming Jackson School World Fellow Gabriel Silva (former Congressman of Panama) and Sophia Lafargue (former Chief of Staff at the U.S. House of Representatives) to talk about foreign politics, grass roots organizing, and the importance of involving young people in politics.
  • Tuesday October 29th from 5-6:30pm at the HoC House I am thrilled to welcome Dr. Deepak Cyril D’Souza and Alex Allouche! Dr. D’Souza is a leading expert on the pharmacology of cannabinoids. He is editor of “Marijuana and Madness,” the third edition of an award-winning book that provides a comprehensive overview of the complex associations between cannabis and mental illness. Alex is a Silliman ‘13 alum and the Director of Business Development & Corporate Strategy for C3 Industries, a leading muti-state cannabis operator. This is a great tea for people who are interested understanding more about the science and business of cannabis. These two experts will come at the topic with different experiences and perspectives. They will be open to answering all your questions!
